Description
The STW ESX.4cs-gw is a compact, freely programmable safety controller and communication gateway designed for demanding mobile machinery applications. Built around an Infineon AURIX TC299 multicore processor, the ESX.4cs-gw combines powerful processing, multiple CAN interfaces, Ethernet connectivity, RS232, LIN, flexible I/O and integrated Ethernet switching in a rugged controller platform.
Designed as a communication and control node, the ESX.4cs-gw can connect and manage different networks and functional areas within a mobile machine. It can operate as an intelligent central controller, monitor distributed control units and I/O modules, or consolidate existing decentralised machine architectures.
The controller provides 6 CAN interfaces, up to 5 Ethernet interfaces, 1 RS232, 1 LIN, 12 configurable inputs and 4 high-side outputs. The Ethernet switch enables targeted forwarding of large amounts of data without unnecessarily loading the processor.
With support for C, MATLAB Simulink and IEC 61131-3 programming through Neuron Power Engineer, together with STW’s openSYDE software toolchain and libraries for CANopen, J1939 and ISOBUS, the ESX.4cs-gw provides a flexible platform for machine control, networking, diagnostics and automation.
The ESX.4cs-gw is designed for safety-related applications up to SIL 2 according to IEC 61508 and PL d according to EN ISO 13849-1. STW also lists ASIL B as a scheduled feature.
